Sergei Kabanikhin, male, Russian national, born in 1952, is a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He currently serves as the Director of the Institute of Mathematics at the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He graduated from Novosibirsk State University with a major in mathematics and applied mathematics. He is a Soviet and Russian mathematician, an expert in computational mathematics, and specializes in solving inverse problems in mathematical sciences using numerical methods and their applications.
